Role Summary
This field service role covers services and maintenance activities at customer sites, including the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of sold or existing products, both preventive and remedial. You will provide direction and assistance to the work group to meet assigned objectives, make decisions within defined parameters, and resolve issues of moderate complexity through immediate action or short-term planning. Over 60% of the role involves travel to customer sites, within Japan and to other countries.

Key Responsibilities

- Pre-commission, commission and service static frequency converters (SFC), low and medium voltage variable frequency drives (VFD), switchgear, transformers and power systems
- Provide technical assistance and supervision to customers on installations
- Conduct on-site data interpretation and technical instruction
- Report promptly to management on safety, project/service status, and customer or equipment problems and failures
- Provide on-site guidance and training on proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Support the quality team with root cause analysis and reports in case of equipment malfunctions or failures
- Complete site documentation, such as weekly safety updates, installation checklists, and pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures
- Perform hands-on on-site parts replacement, testing and verification of electrical equipment
- Follow company health and safety policies
- Communicate clearly and methodically with all levels, from upper management to peers, both internally and externally

応募資格

Requirements

・Fluent oral and written English and Japanese

・Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering

・Solid understanding of power electronics, electric circuits, electric power systems, medium voltage and harmonics, with good hands-on skills

・Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and good knowledge of at least one programming language

・Hands-on experience with test instruments (recorders, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, insulation resistance testers, etc.)

・Comfortable sailing on marine vessels and staying offshore for a defined number of days if needed

・Willing to travel, including to distant locations in Japan and short trips abroad, sometimes at short notice

・Good understanding of health and safety, and the risks and hazards involved
